SafeNet, Netflix, Pitney Bowes and Cisco to Present Strategies for Protecting Data When Breaches are Inevitable
SafeNet’s RSA Conference 2013 Speaking Sessions to Focus on Data Protection in the Age of Cloud and Virtualization
BALTIMORE
February 07, 2013
SafeNet,
Inc., a global leader in data protection, today announced that company
executives will be participating in two speaking sessions at the upcoming RSA
Conference 2013 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.
Both sessions will address the data protection challenges that organizations face as
they migrate to next-generation virtual data center architectures and will
discuss the strategies they are implementing to allow them to maintain
protection, control and compliance of their data in the new cloud and virtual
world.
“The
security industry has awakened to the fact that network breaches have become a
fact of life. So, the next sensible thing to do is look at ways we can help
organizations build a sound security strategy around the assumption that
breaches are inevitable,” said Dave Hansen, SafeNet’s President and Chief Executive
Officer. “Part of moving forward in this new world is implementing the
technology and controls that embed protection on the data itself. This is where
intelligent deployment of an encryption framework is becoming a core strategy in
ensuring high-value data is protected, even in the event of a data breach.”

Sessions
Customer Panel: Trust and Consequences of Cloud and Virtualization
Tuesday, February 26th, 2:30-3:30 p.m. PST, Room 124

Bill Burns, CISSP, Director, Information Security and Networking, Netflix
Ray Umerley, Vice President, Product Solution Development, Pitney Bowes
There
is no arguing the return on investment (ROI) value of cloud and virtualization –
but at what risk? Clouds reduce visibility and control, open new attack
vectors, and increase privileged users. SafeNet, together with Cisco, Netflix,
and Pitney Bowes, will discuss how they are using encryption to regain
visibility and control in cloud and virtual environments, as well as
simplifying and scaling their PKI infrastructure via centralized key management
and crypto consolidation.
Control Quotient:
Adaptive Strategies for Gracefully Losing Control
Friday, March 1st,
9-10 a.m. PST, Room 133
Speakers: David Etue, Vice President, Corporate Development
Strategy, SafeNet Inc.
Josh Corman, Director
of Security Intelligence, Akamai Technologies
Cloud,
virtualization, mobility and consumerization have greatly changed how IT assets
are owned and operated. Rather than focusing on loss of security control, the
path forward is cultural change that finds serenity and harnesses the control
we’ve kept. The Control Quotient is a model based on control and trust,
allowing proper application of security controls, even in challenging
environments.
