Many software publishers like the idea of electronic distribution and activation of their software and taking advantage of the many other benefits of the Sentinel HASP Business Studio Server, but lack the systems infrastructure to support this effort.
HASP Managed Services provides third party hosting of the Sentinel HASP Business Studio Server on behalf of our ISV customers that do not wish to host their own servers. HASP Managed Services not only reduces your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), by eliminating the need to purchase and actively manage this infrastructure, it allows your organization to focus its resources and attention on your core business.
HASP Managed Services uses a redundant array of servers, network and information security infrastructures to provide steady service with global access at a 24X7 level.
Hosted Sentinel HASP Business Studio ServerISVs who participate in this service will receive a user name and password which allows all Business Studio activity. Server hosting is available to ISVs using the hardware-based protection key (HASP HL) and / or the software-based protection key (HASP SL) components of Sentinel HASP.
Services Include:
- Managed Activation Server support including all of the services provided by the Business Studio Server
- Scheduled reports detailing activation code utilization which are sent by Email on set intervals
Providing a reliable backend for your licensing management system
In order to ensure continuous backend operation of your licensing system, The HASP managed services infrastructure includes the following:
Infrastructure Topology – our goal was to design a robust and secure topology, behind a Firewall cluster a segmented IP network provides each element the proper access and security level. Our Database cluster is located on the secure segment which can not be accessed from the Internet. The Application servers and Web servers are located in different network segments.
"Best of breed" devices - firewall cluster by Checkpoint, Network switches by Cisco and Nortel, Load balancing switches by Alteon and server hardware from HP, IBM and Network Appliance.
Redundancy – is maintained throughout the entire system. Our goal was to eliminate single points of failure. Every element of HASP Managed Services (including the application servers, the network and security system and the Database system) has a redundant copy ready to take over automatically, when required.
Information Security – is maintained in parallel layers: the physical security is enforced by the data center provider using a sequence set of physical keys and biometric identification systems; network security is enforced by a FireWall and other dedicated network devices; and an external system is performing a security sweep of the entire system to ensure that the HASP Managed Services are kept up to date regarding emerging security threats.
Data Backup - to ensure a fast recovery for a site scale disaster, an automated process places a copy of the data in three secured locations spread around two continents.
Monitoring – An external system performs a list of tests on regular intervals. The various applications are tested. Any deviation in the results is reported immediately by mail and pager to the HASP Managed Services team for immediate response (24X7).
Redundant power systems - Sentinel HASP Managed Services use a fully redundant power supply consisting of back-up generators, automatic transfer switch, UPS system, -48 V battery plant, and independent breakers.
