Phil Saunders leads all of SafeNet's global sales and customer service
functions, including direct and indirect sales, sales operations, maintenance
services, order administration, as well as a global team of technical
support specialists.
Mr. Saunders originally joined SafeNet in 1996 as Vice President of Marketing
and Business Development where he was responsible for developing strategic
relationships with leading companies to drive valuation, revenues and
long-term viability. Mr. Saunders led SafeNet’s marketing transformation
of the company’s product line, brand image and revenue model.
During the two years Mr. Saunders left SafeNet, he was Senior Vice President
of Business Development at OpenReach (now known as Corente), a security
services and application provider. While at OpenReach, he led a team focused
on establishing joint ventures and other strategic engagements with leading
telco, technology, and consulting firms around the globe.
In 2002, Mr. Saunders returned to SafeNet and since that time has held
several highly successful positions in Sales and Marketing, including
Vice President, Worldwide Enterprise Sales, Vice President of Americas
Sales, and Vice President and General Manager of the Borderless Security
Business Unit. In July of 2006, Mr. Saunders was promoted to Senior Vice
President of Worldwide Sales, where he is responsible for delivering the
company’s overall revenue and senior sales leadership across all business
lines globally. Mr. Saunders is also responsible for joining forces with
the business unit product and marketing groups to ensure accurate and
rich representation of SafeNet products in the marketplace.
Before joining SafeNet, Mr. Saunders was Director of Sales at Nuera Communications
for a newly formed business unit focused on global service providers.
Mr. Saunders has received numerous leadership awards for his outstanding
achievements including awards from the American Marketing Association
(AMA) and has an M.B.A. from Seton Hall University’s W. Paul Stillman
School of Business.
