Internship Requirements and Qualifications:
All interns must:
- Be a US citizen.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Computer
Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other program related
to the specific internship. (See Internship job postings for details.)
- Previous internships or summer jobs involving engineering, exposure
to digital hardware, embedded systems, and/or lab and test equpiment
would be a plus.

Typical Internship Opportunities:
- INTERN, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING. Torrance, CA and Phoenix, AZ
Design and development of embedded systems. Activities may include
programming using C and/or Assembler, software test (procedure development,
test performance, data analysis, and report generation), data documentation,
and basic project engineering support which involves interfacing with
other engineers of other disciplines to reach system design solutions.
- INTERN, SYSTEMS ENGINEERING. Torrance, CA and Phoenix, AZ
Assist in designs and developments of system requirements and subsystems;
architecture and current hardware limitations, defines complex system
specifications; input/output processes; working parameters for hardware/software
compatibility and integration of total system. Analyzes and resolve
difficult and complicated program support deficiencies. Utilize established
guidelines and standards for ISO 9001 compliance. Requires knowledge
of designing embedded or cryptographic system; electronics and embedded
systems (cryptographic experience is a significant plus); and ability
to utilize test equipment.
- INTERN, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. Torrance, CA
Provide various mechanical engineering support. Involves product design
development of encryption products for commercial and government applications.
Need (1) have knowledge and ability to take a project from requirement,
initial concept, detailed design, drawing generation, complete part
number and Bill of Materials details, and (2) be familiar with and
capable of performing various analyses such as worst-case tolerance
and dimensioning, thermal, shock, vibration, structural, and stress
analyses.
- INTERN, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. Torrance, CA
Provide first line support to company employees to resolve computer
software and hardware problems/. Provide routine analysis and problem
solving of network or PC software, hardware, or peripherals; Aid in
the development of systems documentation and procedure manuals as
required. Design, build deploy and maintains web pages for internal
company website. Facilitate and conduct training sessions for company
employees in the operation of software/hardware systems.
- INTERN, MANUFACTURING ENGINEER. Torrance, CA
Intern will be working with the industrialization (transition to production)
process during the engineering design to production phase. The position
requires general knowledge of; Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design
for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) of electronic packages
and establishment of contract manufacturers for production; manufacturing
standards, methods, procedures and tooling to productivity throughout
all assembly areas.
