DS-3 Module
Extending KIV-7M Utility to KG-95 Environments
The SafeNet Mykotronx DS-3 Module brings the benefits of Crypto Modernization
to the KG-95-2 community of users. This easy-to-install and -use ancillary
device provides the required framing bits to encrypt a DS 3 connection
comprised of multiple fractional DS 3 connections, or to support routers
using ATM with PLCP (Physical Layer Convergence Procedure) framing.
The DS-3 Module can be rack-mounted or used standalone. Specifically
designed for the standard KIV-7M rack-mount chassis, the device facilitates
short cable lengths between the KIV-7M and the DS-3 Module. When rack
mounted, the DS-3 Module draws power from the power supplies of the
rack-mount chassis. When used as a standalone device, power is supplied
by a separately orderable 102VAC power converter of the same type used
by the KIV-7M.
Industry-standard Western Electric Co. (WECo) BNC-type, 75 Ohm connectors
provide the needed connection points on the DS-3 Module's rear panel,
making installation of the Module in existing environments quick and
easy.
