(TCIA) interoperability with the KIV-7/HS. The TCIA provides full duplex interfacing and any necessary
signal conversion between encryption equipment and commercial T1 Data Terminal Equipment on one side,
and leased T1 span lines on the other. In addition, it provides secure "pass around" of the T1 frame and
multi-frame timing in both directions around the encryptor, and re-insertion of the correct synchronization
pattern in both output T1 transmissions.
