ProtectFile Premium - PKI enabled file encryption

ProtectFile Premium encrypts folders of files and integrates with an existing PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) to control individual and group permission-based access to confidential data.

The seamless integration into a PKI environment (LDAP, CRL etc) enables advanced key backup, recovery, key update and management. This allows key management and authentication to be undertaken by the PKI whilst administration of user rights and security policies can be completely separated from the network and PKI administration.

The ability to automatically look-up the central user directory (LDAP or Active Directory) enables the dedicated ProtectFile Administrator to easily add/remove arbitrary user access relevant to the encrypted folders within their responsibility.

A user can be part of several groups and access the encrypted files within the folders allocated to those groups.

Active Directory integration

Seamless integration into Windows Active Directory enables simple user management without the need for administrator training of ProtectFile operations.

PKI interoperability

ProtectFile Premium will integrate seamlessly with the following PKIs:

• MS-PKI
• Novell e-Directory
• RSA Keon

User group management

Team leaders of user groups can easily specify who is able to access relevant folders.

Scripting

Scripting enables the automation of management tasks to streamline the creation of encrypted folders and the management of user access. This includes the automated creation of envcrypted folders, plus the creation and removal of users and access to encrypted folders. The increased efficiency delivered by scripting adds considerable benefit to large scale deployments of ProtectFile.
