SafeNet Inc's Card Issuance security application performs the necessary data security functions for card issuance
and personalization of consumer transaction cards. This includes data preparation functions simultaneously for both
magnetic-stripe cards and the latest EMV (chip) cards. It delivers cryptographic and key management processing functions
in line with standards mandated by American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa.
Comprehensive Command Set
The comprehensive command set delivered with Card Issuance enables a wide spectrum of secure, out-of-the-box data, PIN
and cryptographic key generation functionality. This includes (to illustrate a few of many): PIN/ generation and mailing,
PVV and CVV generation, management of issuer RSA keys and certificates, generation of unique-per-card RSA and 3DES keys
and generation of signatures for SDA static data.

Accelerate development of Card Issuing applications
The command set and functionality provided by Card Issuance can be easily and quickly integrated into Card Issuance
applications utilizing a dedicated Software Development Kit (SDK). This SDK provides the API software as dynamic/shared
and static link libraries, header files and reference documentation required to compile and link card issuing security
functionality within a custom application. In addition, sample programs with source code and build instructions assist
and accelerate application development, plus a convenient test script execution tool streamlines testing.
Security
Card Issuance operating on an SafeNet's HSM delivers the highest levels of physical and logical security for
the issuance and personalization of consumer transaction cards. Physical security is delivered through tamper-resistant
secure casing and tamper-responsive circuitry that trigger automatic erasure of sensitive information (e.g. cryptographic
keys and PINs) immediately upon tamper detection. Dedicated cryptographic electronics provide high levels of protection
for key generation and management, PIN data generation and printing, plus Card Verification Value (CVV) generation, to
mention a few of many secured card issuance functions.
Easy Management
SafeNet's HSMs with Card Issuance functionality provide easy management through built-in GUI-based menu
navigation systems and intuitive dialog box management screens. These enable trouble free configuration, operation and key management.
