Mark II
Mark II is SafeNet Inc's international EFT/payment processing security application running on external or PCI Host
Security Module (HSM) platforms. This solution provides comprehensive and standards-compliant cryptographic and key
management support for retail EFT transactions. Mark II complies with the payment systems security requirements of all
major card schemes, such as American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa.
Comprehensive Command Set
The comprehensive command set delivered with Mark II enables a broad level of out-of-the-box payment processing security
functionality. This includes (to illustrate a few of many); Key Management, PIN Management, Message Authentication, Data
Encryption, plus specific American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa functionality.
Seamless out-of-the-box integrationMark II is pre-integrated with a wide range of major payment processing application providers. This enables delivery of a pre-tested out-of-the-box hardware-based retail EFT cryptographic security solution that facilitates faster time to market and lower integration costs. SafeNet constantly monitors, tests and upgrades the ability to seamlessly integrate Mark II with the most important global and regional software vendors that facilitate payment-processing solutions. Accelerate development of Payment Processing applicationsThe command set and functionality delivered with Mark II can be integrated into host-based retail EFT applications using the ProtectToolKit EFT Software Development Kit (SDK). This SDK provides the API software as dynamic/shared and static link libraries, header files and reference documentation required to compile and link payment processing security functionality within a custom application. In addition, sample programs with source code and build instructions, assist and accelerate application development, plus a convenient test script execution tool streamlines testing. SecurityMark II operating on an SafeNet's HSM delivers the highest levels of physical and logical security for the processing of EFT transactions. Physical security is delivered through tamper-resistant secure casing and tamper-responsive circuitry that trigger automatic erasure of sensitive information (such as cryptographic keys and PINs) immediately upon tamper detection. Dedicated cryptographic electronics provide high levels of protection for PIN processing, transaction authentication, message integrity, data confidentiality, plus card and internet payment authentication. These are in addition to cryptographic key management, terminal and interchange key management, plus secure PIN and key mailing, to mention a few of many. Broad range of available Performance LevelsIn conjunction with the respective HSM platform, the Mark II functionality is available in different performance levels (PL) to suit the varying needs of an application. Easy ManagementSafeNet's HSMs that support EFT/payment processing functionality provide easy management through built-in GUI-based menu navigation systems and intuitive dialog box management screens. These enable trouble free configuration, operation and key management. For specific management functionalities, please refer to the management capabilities of the HSM of choice:
